The beautiful and the useful. Gardens restored to the former glory of the 17th century, when it was created by the Benedictine monks of the congregation of Saint-Maur. Offering an example - single in the area - of a monastic garden, utilitarian garden by definition. Its architectural style mixes the heritage of the medieval abbey gardens with the gardens of the Italian Renaissance in terraces, adapted to the more sober French style. Included is a floral vegetable garden, with 80 species of medicinal plants, an orchard with old-fashioned fruit varieties of different shapes and habits, vines and shrubberies, from where the visitor can admire the magnificent view of the abbey and the Seine river valley.

Jardins de Bois-Guilbert - Parc de sculptures
The seven hectares park is an hymn to sculpture. Jean-Marc de Pas, landscape artist and sculptor, has created in the heart of this family-run estate, a vast idyllic sculpture park, a poetic walk and landscape garden where art and nature transport the walker through a reverie of changing symbolic spaces, around the chateau, chapel and pavilion from the 17th and 18th centuries. The estate has played host to major figures including the poet and play writer Pierre Corneille, a cousin of the family's ancestors.

The park is dominated by a beautiful cedar of Lebanon, several centuries old. The park of the château is surrounded with a wall of bricks recently restored and you can find inside some fruit trees, magnolias, and huge collection of clematises.
Against the château, the kitchen garden (restored forty years ago by the Comtesse de Vogüé, grand-mother of the actual owners), stayed/stays in its initial vocation of a " pleasure " garden. Separated by alleys of grass, the squares are ordered with vegetables and flowers that contrast with the profusion of annual flowers on the sides: a fantastic harmony of delicate colours that change according to the season.

La Ferme des Templiers
A medieval garden with a babbling stream has been created to give life to this Knights of the Temple Abbey from the 13th century. You will find scented roses, kitchen garden plants already known in the Charlemagne period, dyers 'plants as "pastel" and "garance" and spices brought to the abbey by the Knights.
The flowers are still there to enchant the pilgrimage chapel as well as the aromatic plants to give flavor to the courses (the manor house was expected to accommodate the knights according to customary hospitality), and the apple trees for the tarts duly made for the chaplain.
The pond enchanted by birds and frogs and a boxwood maze gives serenity to this medieval garden.

A lesson of aesthetic. This contemporary garden features a series of intimate but strongly contrasting outdoor rooms: the accent is on the structure as you explore a botanical realm where mineral and vegetal worlds are combined with great talent.
The planting exuberance appeals to all our senses. A garden bursting with ideas in such a confined space: 6.000 m2 of winding paths and tiny squares. At Agapanthe, nothing is left to chance: everything is designed down to the smallest detail, yet everything looks vibrant and natural ...Discover the unexpected ! This is like nothing you've ever seen.
A second garden, as spectacular as the first one, will open this year.

Jardins de Vastérival
This small valley close to the sea, planted by Princess Greta Sturdza in 1957, is home to one of the most important private collections of plants in France. In it, the Princess - a renowned self-taught gardener - has met the challenge of blending botanical and horticultural considerations in order to achieve a plant décor of year-round beauty with regard to flowering, colour, and interest, regardless of season. This has been done while taking advantage of the soil, whether acid or neutral, sand or gravel, and the micro-climate created by the profile of the land. Her gardening technique as to planting, mulching, and, above all, "pruning for transparency" is still carefully observed, enabling a small team of gardeners to maintain permanently and in perfect shape the twelve hectares that encompass today's garden. Every visit allows us to discover rare plants, sure judgements, or novelties, frequently turning it into a veritable lesson in gardening.
